Placid Plastic Duck Simulator leaves the Netflix pool for the ocean of iOS and Android proper

Rubber ducky time

Placid Plastic Duck Simulator leaves the Netflix pool for the ocean of iOS and Android proper
  • Placid Plastic Duck Simulator has broken free of the Netflix bubble
  • It's coming to iOS and Android on August 7th
  • Enjoy a peaceful time by the pool as your ducks are in a row

What better thing to do than chill by the pool when it's hot? Well, that sounds nice but at the same time I don't think I'm alone in knowing that the public swimming baths are anything but peaceful, and there's not much chance of a private pool in all but the biggest gardens. So, what Placid Plastic Duck simulator offers is more than welcome for this sunny summer!

Longtime readers will be familiar with Placid Plastic Duck Simulator when it first released on Netflix last year, but you'll be doubly pleased to find out that it's now releasing on iOS and Android proper come August 7th (according to the App Store)!

To describe Placid Plastic Duck Simulator is difficult, but it's pretty much what it says on the tin. You have a pool, you have ducks, and all you have to do is chill, listen to the music and enjoy the graphics as you slowly gather more and more plastic duckies.

Pool's out for summer

It sounds confusing, but judging by the overwhelmingly positive reviews there must be something here to grab even the most sceptical of players. No doubt it's something to do with the peaceful atmosphere and the slow accumulation of new and interesting-looking ducks.

There's also interesting interactions that take place when different ducks meet, and plenty of achievements to unlock via what you observe and what happens in your pool. For an asking price of $1.99, it's not hard to see why some of you might dive into Placid Plastic Duck Simulator when it hits mobile this August!

If you want to enjoy all that peace and quiet in style, and your old headphones are looking a bit weatherbeaten, why not check out our review of the SteelSeries Arctis Nova 3X headphones to see how they measure up?
