Pigeon: A Love Story flies back onto mobile to let you take to the air across real-world cities

We've seen the loss of many interesting and distinctive games on mobile over the years. Whether that's due to a lack of updates or developers and publishers shutting down. But sometimes, things that were once thought lost make a return, as is the case with Pigeon: A Love Story.

In Pigeon: A Love Story, you take on the role of the titular avian, taking flight around real-world metropolises such as London, New York and Tokyo in pursuit of your soulmate. It's a game which puts atmosphere and exploration above high-scores and leaderboards as you soar through the air to the tune of an ambient soundtrack.

Pigeon: A Love Story first released back in 2021, and was something of an interesting curiosity with plenty of potential. But amongst the issues we pointed out, we missed the fact that when the mapping software, which developer Wristwork had been using to construct their version of London, was closed, so did the game.

But now Pigeon: A Love Story is back and bigger than ever with the addition of even more real-world cities to explore and even co-operative play. Heck, even the rejections you receive from other pigeons have been handwritten and submitted by community members for that extra 'personal' touch.

And even if you finish Pigeon: A Love Story, you can take on an endless metropolis of procedurally generated buildings too. Considering our previous issues, it feels as though Pigeon: A Love Story has finally taken flight and spread its wings as we hoped it would all those years ago.
