Paperbag disguise enables Obama Trampoline to go live on App Store
Brown bagging the political issues
You might recall we took a look at a rather coy little iPhone app that depicted caricatures of various members of the US legislature bouncing on a trampoline and popping balloons with their heads. Apple blocked Obama Trampoline, as it was known, out of a general fear of upsetting gallant American politicians.
But now the app is back – rebranded as Party Trampoline – with the game characters now suitably disguised with brown paper bags over their heads.
The developer would like it known that this game does not allow you to play as Barack Obama, Rudy Giuliani, Mike Huckabee, Duncan Hunter, John McCain, Ron Paul, Mitt Romney, Tom Tancredo, Fred Thompson, Joe Biden, Hillary Clinton, Chris Dodd, John Edwards, Mike Gravel, Bill Richardson, George W. Bush, Bill Clinton or even Sarah Palin.
Each of these politicians, er, I mean, random characters whose identity we have no clue about, has their own strengths and weaknesses as they bounce around and try to pop the balloons.
It seems the clever disguises were enough to reassure (or, at least, convince) Apple that the identities of the previously featured characters are now fully protected, as the game previously known as Obama Trampoline has just gone live on the App Store.
