Onmyoji: What to expect from the 4th-anniversary update
What happens when demons and humans collide, and the world is thrown off-balance? Netease's gorgeous mobile RPG Onmyoji is celebrating its fourth anniversary this month, with tons of exciting in-game and IRL goodies in store for players. The lineup of events includes free units, beautiful skins, a special Time Machine event and an offline celebration to name a few - and we've got the lowdown on what you can expect during the festivities.
The Onmyoji 4th Anniversary SSR Suzuhikohime will be up for grabs after the update on February 23rd, inviting players to follow the tale of a disillusioned Saintess who foregoes her High Priest duties in favour of her internal flame. Borne from the fire, she is destined to serve the gods - but as "everything on the altar is a lie", she dances an unholy dance and unleashes her inner fire instead (there's more info on this in her special character CG on Facebook).
Meanwhile, "ninja legend" SP Ninja Yamausagi can be obtained for free after clearing [Ninja Tricks] once the fourth-anniversary update rolls out as well. Complete the challenges to score Exclusive Illustrations, Event Exclusive Frame and more until March 8th.
From February 23rd until March 1st, a player's first Mystery Summon every day will not consume Mystery Amulets. Orochi's new skin Shivering Shadow, SSR/SP Summon Scroll, Skill Daruma and more are also up for grabs during the Fiery Chime event until March 8th. Until March 6th, the first SP/SSR that is summoned by players using a Mystery Amulet, Jade or AR Amulet is guaranteed to be completely new. To top it all off, SP/SSR shikigami will be given away at random for every 100 summons.
Along with the fourth-anniversary celebrations comes the new special edition skin Billowing Floret for Seawatch Kingyo, as well as other skins with limited-time discounts. Plus, the 4th anniversary Time Machine event lets players take a walk down memory lane as they relive the good ol' days and bond with random SSR/SP units. Simply participating in the Time Machine event rewards players with Kagura's new skin Graceful Serenity plus a random SP/SSR shikigami for free. Finally, you can join the festivities from February 19th to February 20th as Onmyoji exhibits Seimei Ice Sculpture Works at BANKEI Ski Resort in Sapporo, Japan.
