We first covered OLO Loco back in June where the pedigree behind the game caught our attention. Not only is it being published by mobile veterans Rogue Games but it's being developed by Sennep, the developers of Alphaputt and the prequel to this game, OLO.

Today, they have unveiled new screenshots that help display the slight change in direction the game is taking over its predecessor. Though an excellent game OLO was fairly devoid of any real personality beyond being colourful whilst OLO Loco is undeniably more pronounced, though it may not be for everyone.

If you're unfamiliar with the previous game, OLO Loco is effectively a digitised take on the sport shuffleboard. In online, 1v1 multiplayer matches the aim is to knock as many OLO's into your opponent's target zones as possible. Well, in the standard game mode that is.

There will also be game other variants to choose from where the ruleset has been adapted slightly. There's a point-focused game mode called Boolo and another called Reverso that will apparently mess with your head as you get to grips with it. Regardless of which mode you play, you can opt for real-time or asynchronous matches against friends or other random players from across the globe.

Alongside the attempt to inject some zany personality to the game, Sennep has added the option taunt your opponent during matches using little faces called Olomojis. This could prove important because, as we all know, sometimes if you can win the psychological game, you'll be victorious overall.

OLO Loco is set to release this summer over on the App Store and Google Play, including Google Play Pass. The game is set to release on August 18th.
