Obey Me! Nightbringer, a sequel to the otome game of the same name, opens up pre-registrations

NTT Solmare has opened up pre-registrations for their quasi-sequel to their popular otome game Obey Me! titled Obey Me! Nightbringer. This one seeks to leave behind the visual novel-styled gameplay of the last one in service of a rhythm game style instead, offering up a new spin on the series and its lovely cast of colourful characters.

The original Obey Me! was something akin to Mystic Messenger, where the characters in-game would become part of your everyday life. They would text you, call you, and have group chats that you’d be included in. Alongside this, there was a smaller section of gameplay mechanics that revolved around dance battles, as well as a card collection part of the game that would offer up more stories about whichever boy you chose to fall for.

Nightbringer includes a lot of these things in it, but reshapes the general gameplay loop into something more like Hatsune Miku: Colorful Stage instead. The story will be told in the same fashion as the prequel to Nightbringer, but instead of those dance battles, you’ll have to progress through rhythm game stages to further the plot. Alongside this, you can still collect different versions of your favourite characters and upgrade them as you beat stage after stage.

Another core new feature of Nightbringer is that the choices you make during conversations with the demon boys will actually affect the plot and offer up different endings and events, so your playthrough might be totally different from your friends! This also offers up a cool way to incentivise repeat playthroughs, giving this game lots of longevity into the future.

So, whether you're a fan of the original game or someone who’s interested in hot demon boys and rhythm games, this is the perfect game for you! You can currently pre-register at either of the links below ahead of the release later this year!
