ZeniMax requests Skyrim companion app Dragon Shout be pulled from the App Store
Fus Ro D'OH!

The future of unofficial Skyrim companion app Dragon Shout is under threat, after lawyers for Bethesda parent company ZeniMax sent a note to the program's developer asking for it to be pulled from Apple's digital marketplace "due to copyright infringement".
ZeniMax's legal notice to Dragon Shout creator Rick Blalock didn't actually take the form of an official cease-and-desist order, mind, and nor does it contain details on how precisely Dragon Shout infringes the Skyrim copyright.
"I did my best to ensure the app was not violating anything," Blalock revealed in an email to Touch Arcade.
"I looked up US trademarks and copyrights for 'Dragon Shout' and at the time there wasn't any. I had the map hand drawn. I intentionally didn't use any graphics or wording that would possibly be owned by Bethesda. So, I'm still not sure what they say the app violates."
Our advice: if you're a fan of Dragon Shout, you might want to consider backing it up sharpish. Here's how.
Dragon Shout is currently available free of charge on the App Store. For how long, though, who knows?
