It's a rugby scrum

The studio behind the cauliflower-eared RBS 6 Nations, Creative North, is about to have another go at bringing a decent rugby game to mobiles with not one but two new titles.

Both due to debut this year, World Rugby 2007 and Super Kicker 2007 will enter a niche where they'll compete mainly against their predecessor.

World Rugby 2007 offers full 15-a-side rugby union matches, and features special moves such as dash, bosh (whatever that is, it sounds violent) and side step.

There is also a first-person conversion kick section to round off the play options. You'll have 20 international teams to choose from and a full world tournament to play in, complete with accurate dates and every real-world game location.

In contrast, Super Kicker 2007 sounds a bit more limited, or perhaps that should be specialised?

The game's action is comprised entirely of conversion kicks, and although there are three modes on offer, it sounds more like an extra mode in World Rugby 2007 than a game in its own right. Hopefully its simple gameplay will prove addictive enough to keep it off the bench.

Either way, both are bound to be much more fun than getting your teeth booted in during a real rugby match (at least for the decidedly wimpy Pocket Gamer bunch).
