Hoping to pick up Nintendo's king-sized portable when it launches on July 28th? The 3DS XL is a bumper console with bigger screens and a longer battery life, but it also carries a bumper price tag.

If you walk into your local Game or Gamestation (if it hasn't been closed down yet), the console will set you back about £199.99. Shop around online, though, and you could nab yourself a bargain.

Sainsbury's Entertainment has the best price. The supermarket is already selling the 3DS XL for £179.99, but if you apply the voucher code SETENJ12 you'll get it for £161.99, with free postage. Note that the code only applies to new Sainsbury's users.

If you're not a new Sainsbury's customer, then Zavvi will sell you the console for £167.95, with free shipping. The Hut (part of the same retail empire) is offering the console for the same price.

If you've got a bundle of reward card points to spend, Game has the unit for £174.99, with free postage, if you go online.

Remember that the system does not come with an AC Adaptor, for some bizarre reason. If you don't have a 3DS one lying about, you'll need to buy the charger separately. Game carries it for £6.99.
