[UPDATE: This story originally claimed that the flame red 3DS was also coming to Europe. It's not as far as we know.]

Nintendo has revealed that the 'Flame Red' Nintendo 3DS, currently available only in Japan, is coming to the US soon.

Nintendo of America president Reggie Fils-Aime told CNN that the red version of the handheld console will be hitting shelves on September 9th, a month after the price drop.

"For us, this is really about reinvigorating the Nintendo 3DS business and making sure we're powering the business all through the holiday timeframe," the Nintendo boss noted.

"The holiday timeframe is critically important. We've been in this video game business for 30-plus years. In order to have a strong holiday, you need to go into the holiday time period with strong momentum."

Tell us whether you're red-hot for this flame-coloured 3DS in the comments section below. Or not. It's entirely up to you.
