Three weeks until Pocket Shorts funding deadline closes
Scottish mobile developers after £3000 should get their skates on

Unsurprisingly, given the similarity in names, the Pocket Shorts competition is the sort of thing we at Pocket Gamer think there should be more of.
Funded by various Scottish agencies (Scottish Enterprise, Scottish Screen and Nesta), the annual event provides game developers (as well as animators, filmmakers and the like) with funding of up to £3000 to get their mobile projects off the ground.
That's not all, though. In addition to funding, you'll also get plenty of advice in terms of completing your project and, if you're that way inclined, setting up a company to take your ideas further.
Now entering its third year, successful applicants will also be able to bask in the glory of having their finished projects debut at the Edinburgh Interactive Festival 08, the games event of the world-famous Edinburgh Festival.
It all sounds good. Of course, there are some restrictions. The main one for most readers is the fact you have to being living in Scotland to be eligible. And those who fancy relocating north of border better be quick about it: applications have to be in by November 30th.
