DS + PSP + Java

THQ's latest financial report has revealed the company's plans to discontinue two of its big name franchises and cancel a forthcoming PSP game.

Following under-performances from Stuntman: Ignition, Ratatouille and Conan in 2007, THQ has made the decision to stop making Juiced and Stuntman games.

Juiced 2: Hot Import Nights was the last game released from the Juiced franchise coming out on DS, PSP and mobile, while Stuntman: Ignition (gawd bless its soul) only made it onto mobile following its Xbox 360, PS3 and PS2 release.

Wii game Destroy All Humans! Big Willy Unleashed will also no longer be released on PSP as we announced last year.

Finally, in this storm of bad news, THQ is also closing its Californian studio Concrete Games which has worked internally on various THQ titles. The company has said a 'substantial number' of its staff will be offered jobs at its other studios.

At least there is some good new. There's no danger of WWE SmackDown vs Raw games being affected - the 2008 instalment has exceeded sales targets since its release in November 2007.

Gamers would rather be grappling big sweaty men than hitting ramps in a cool little tuk tuk on a film set in Stuntman? Shameful...
