The calm after the storm
The next eight days in handheld games

Like lions in the sizzling Serengeti sun, the Pocket Gamer pride is lazily lying around the office motionless, barely able to type after gorging itself silly on turkey and mince pies over the last ten days.
Good thing then that the rest of the game industry is hardly displaying gazelle-like activity when it comes to releasing new titles.
The DS is starting the year as it finished the last – ahead of the PSP – and is first to get itself off the floor with this week's Micro Machines v4 and next Friday's planned Bionicle Heroes and Children of Mana.
The PSP, meanwhile, seems reluctant to get things going, although World Snooker Championship 2007 should apparently reach shop shelves next week.
That's assuming it doesn't suddenly decide it can't be bothered – its cover star is Ronnie O'Sullivan, after all (non-snooker fans should note O'Sullivan infamously abandoned a quarter final match against Stephen Hendry part way through an early frame during last December's UK Championship).
