PlayStation Network users might be intrigued to hear that Sony has been talking about how it plans to expand the PSP's connectivity at this year's Tokyo Game Show, and revealed that a portable access to Home (which will be familiar to PS3 owners) will be available.

This new Home – known as Room – will feature a host of social features such as blogs, chat, mini-games, real-time communication, photo albums and more.

The news comes as Sony makes a decision to limit the networking of its PSP console in other areas, such as the PSP Minis. The bite-sized games won't be allowed functions such as multiplayer or download content, but apparently that doesn't mean the rest of the PSP's functions will be handcuffed to the same radiator.

Room should be available to all Japanese PSP owners before the end of the year. No plans have been disclosed regarding western players at this stage.

Spanner Spencer
Yes. Spanner's his real name, and he's already heard that joke you just thought of. Although Spanner's not very good, he's quite fast, and that seems to be enough to keep him in a regular supply of free games and away from the depressing world of real work.
