Theoretical microeconomics, as you no doubt know, incorporates the theory of general equilibrium, which aims to explain something or other about the way an economy operates.

I have absolutely no idea how it would incorporate itself into the business model of the game industry, but I do know that it's an industry in much need of equilibrium.

Besides, I desperately needed an intro. I'm not exaggerating the imbalance, though. Take a look at today's releases against those of next Friday (or indeed any Friday so far this year). It's no coincidence half-term starts this weekend for many across the UK.

Equally, I clearly don't need a doctorate in economics to predict the next spike of releases will come in time for Easter, followed by one at the start of the summer holidays and, finally, next Christmas.

But a writing course would not go amiss, perhaps – if nothing else, it might stop me getting into textual cul-de-sacs such as this one. Still, while I work out how to get myself out of it, why don't you head on down to your favourite game supplier and try out some of great new titles available?
