Spy pics of twin stick PSP2 claimed
General public yawns, goes back to playing Angry Birds

Funny that whenever someone is trying to persuade you of the existence of something uncertain - the Loch Ness monster, UFOs, ghosts or Lady GaGa's masculinity - all they have is a stack of out of focus, blurry snaps.
It's the same with PSP2, which despite the widspread adoption of cameras that can take decent images in all situation, has been revealed by website VG247 in terms of two ropey spy pics of something it claims is the real deal.
Except it doesn't even do that as these are ropey spy pics of a PSP2 development kit, so it's a real not-quite-real deal.
Twice as nice?Anyhow, this PSP2 dev kit, which is based on the PSPgo form factor, has the usual array of rumoured bits and pieces - two joysticks, a microphone, front and rear cameras, and a back trackpad.
Like anyone cares?
Nope. Things have moved on and if Sony wants to impress, especially any developers who haven't yet been burnt by the experience of releasing PSP Mini games to few if any sales, it has to sort out its digital store and pricing model.
People aren't playing on PSP not because it's not a good console, or because it's lacking an analog stick, but because it doesn't have (m)any original games, and the good games it does have can be bought cheaper on your iPhone.
As for the rumours that PSP2 won't be out until the end of 2011... Well, if there's any truth in those, Sony really is in trouble.
