Sony S1 and S2 Android tablets dated for September release in the UK
|

Sony’s first tablet computers have been confirmed for an "end of September" release date in the UK by a private note seen by Engadget.

The S1 and S2 are the first two tablets to be PlayStation Certified - that is to say, they’ll be able to run PlayStation One re-releases so far - following on from the launch of the Xperia Play.

The S2 is the most striking of the two tablets, coming in the form of a clam-shell design that folds up for transport. The S1’s defining feature, on the other hand, is its curved back (which isn’t quite as exciting to us).

There are no hard details yet about what exactly is inside the two machines, although we’d be surprised if it wasn’t some form of dual-core CPU considering the current state of the tablet PC market.
