Christmas isn't a time for good will, charity, or chestnuts. It's about oneupmanship in the games industry - waiting until the Xmas credit cards are primed, then hanging the competition out to dry like a soggy old stocking by nailing the best console price drop, hottest bundle, or tastiest freebie.

Clearly Sony's not going to win the console price drop contest this year (although...) but it might just be in the running for tastiest freebie after European product manager Adam Grant announced that PSPgo owners can bag themselves a free copy of Gran Turismo, MotorStorm: Arctic Edge or Assassin's Creed: Bloodlines in a new offer running until January 10th.

You can get your free game simply by logging into the PlayStation Store and downloading the free PSPgo promotional theme.

Downloading this theme will prompt the system to automatically send you a voucher that can be redeemed for one of those three games (with Assassin's Creed: Bloodlines swapped out for LittleBigPlanet for our lucky German gaming cousins).

So if you're one of the half-dozen PSPgo owners out there, get logged in and grab that freebie.

Spanner Spencer
Yes. Spanner's his real name, and he's already heard that joke you just thought of. Although Spanner's not very good, he's quite fast, and that seems to be enough to keep him in a regular supply of free games and away from the depressing world of real work.
