Sony Ericsson Xperia Play to launch in UK March 31st with six pre-installed games
Available from all operators and mobile retailers
Sony Ericsson's Xperia Play will launch in the UK on March 31st, pre-installed with six games - Bruce Lee Dragon Warriors, Tetris, FIFA 10, Crash Bandicoot, The Sims 3, and Star Battalion.
A further 50 games will be available to download through the PlayStation Suite, including PS1 classics, current smartphone outings optimised for the device, and original content.
Sony Ericsson says the Xperia Play is being backed by its biggest UK marketing campaign ever and will be sold by all mobile operators and retailers. It could also be sold through game stores
Talking to MCV, Sony Ericsson's marketing director David Hilton said, “We are currently still in commercial conversation, but I’d be surprised if we didn’t see Xperia Play appear in other channels. All the mobile operators and retailers are selling it. It is rare these days to get a product that is sold everywhere, but this is one of those."
An official price is yet to be announced.
