Sony Ericsson announces first fully touch powered Walkman phone

Sony Ericsson has revealed the latest in its range of phones to sport the iconic ‘Walkman’ badge.

The Yendo is the first touch-only device to feature the famous branding.

The compact device features a 2.6-inch QVGA display, which shows off the same ‘four corners’ UI we’ve seen on the Xperia 10 Mini. This allows you to place your four most used programs or applications on each corner of the screen for easy access.

Despite having the same UI as the aforementioned Android phone, though, the Yendo does not run on the Google OS itself.

Also missing from the Yendo is 3G support, which seems like a curious oversight for a modern web-enabled mobile.

The device will be released into “selected markets” in the third quarter of 2010.
