Sega takes wraps off its new Sega Alliance publishing initiative
Indie fun for everyone

Independent game developers have a new ally ready to help them publish and market their games on mobile platforms. Its name? Sega.
The venerable Japanese games company has just announced the formation of Sega Alliance, a publishing initiative that will facilitiate the launching of mobile games from independent developers on smartphones and tablets.
"Sega has been a major player in the mobile games landscape for years, and we've had tremendous success bringing our iconic franchises to smartphones and tablets," Chris Olson, VP of digital business at Sega, said.
"With Sega Alliance, we're looking forward to sharing that success with talented developers like Owlchemy Labs by introducing new and unique games, such as Jack Lumber, to the market. Now if you'll excuse me, I have some trees to destroy."
The announcement of Sega Alliance comes on the same day that Jack Lumber - the first title published under the Sega Alliance banner - was released for iOS worldwide.
As part of its promotional initiative, Sega Alliance plans to showcase Jack Lumber in its booth at the upcoming Penny Arcade Expo in Seattle at the end of August.
