Yes, you read that headline correctly.

Classic Sega Genesis platformer Sonic & Knuckles is already up and running on the recently released PS Vita via an emulator.

Don't get too excited just yet, though, as Sony's latest handheld hasn't been cracked. Sega's famous jet-heeled protagonist is simply running through the Vita's official PSP emulator using the PicoDrive emulator and the Half Byte Loader. Whatever that may be.

Farther downhill

To further dampen your delight, Wololo, the creator of the video below this article, has pointed out that Sony already has security in place to thwart this exploit as soon as it's made public.

Bummer.
