Report claims touchscreen Nseries handset on the way
Will N-Gage be on board?
Nokia unveiled its first touchscreen phone a couple of weeks ago in the form of the 5800 XpressMusic. Now an Indian report claims that a touchscreen Nseries handset will soon join it.
Specifically, blog Cellpassion quotes Devinder Kishore, Nokia India's director of marketing, as saying "We will have a lot of touchscreen phones coming up, including an Nseries device very soon" at an event in New Delhi.
It's safe to say nobody will be falling off their chair in surprise at the news, given Nokia's public ambition to roll out plenty of touchscreen handsets in the months ahead. Touchscreen is a logical feature for the multimedia-focused Nseries range too.
However, it does beg the question of how N-Gage will fit in, given that Nseries is the stomping ground for Nokia's gaming platform.
If the first touch-based Nseries phone is on the way "very soon", Nokia's Games Summit in Rome later this month would be a good time to announce when touchscreen support will be added to the N-Gage SDK...
