Qriocity video service coming to Xperia Play and other handsets
|

Sony Ericsson has announced that the video-download portion of Qriocity will be coming to Xperia Play and a number of other handsets soon.

From the 1st of August (today, then), the Xperia Mini and Xperia Mini Pro will be updated, adding the Qriocity icon to the phone’s app list.

Xperia Play owners will have to wait a little longer for the service to arrive, as it’s currently scheduled to land via software update “later in the year”, alongside the Arc, Neo, Pro, and Acro.

Qriocity, as well as being incredibly annoying to spell, is a subscription service from Sony that can be currently found on the Android Market in its music-streaming form only.

This exclusive Sony Ericsson version will also allow users to buy or rent movies and TV shows from a number of studios including NBC, Universal, Paramount Pictures, Sony Pictures Home Entertainment, Twentieth Century Fox Home Entertainment and Warner Bros, as well as other local studios.
