PSPgo sales better than Sony expected
The benefit of having low expectations

In an interview with GamePro, Sony's head of PlayStation marketing John Koller has been discussing sales of the revamped, UMD-less, digital download-only PSP hardware, the PSPgo.
"We are over-forecast on what we thought we'd be selling on PSP Go, so we've been very pleased," Koller cryptically offered. What he doesn't really elaborate on is what those sales forecasts were.
According to PS3Center, the Japanese stocks are still only half way into the initial launch batch of PSPgo units, and won't clear until around April next year if sales remain consistent.
Koller also talks about improving parity between digital and retail launches of games, admitting that currently the downloaders have had to wait for releases while boxed copies filled the shelves. Some kind of similarity between prices probably wouldn't go amiss, either, with digital games often costing more than their physical counterparts.
But what does sound encouraging is the increased revenue Sony is seeing flowing through the PlayStation Network. How much of that has to do with the PSPgo isn't clear, but Sony gamers are at least looking to the internet as their new games store front.
