[It turns out the PSPgo is not £129.99 after all. Speaking to MCV, Sony has revealed that the new price was advertised on the company's site accidentally. “It's an error/problem with the website, and will be fixed today.”]

Sony’s digital-only handheld, the PSPgo, has received a further price cut in Britain, shedding another £30 from its already discounted price tag.

In October, the system dropped from £200 to the slightly more palatable £159.99, but weeks later the troubled device is now on sale at Sony’s official UK store for £129.99.

Earlier this year, the Japanese giant reasoned that the PSPgo’s flop taught the company a thing or two about what customers want. “We need to recognise that consumers like their packaged media library," said SCEE president and CEO Andrew House.

But gamers hit back, saying that digital is fine, as long as the pricing is sensible. Games are routinely more expensive to buy on the PlayStation Store than on UMD from a retailer. Still, judging from House’s words, it can be assumed that the fabled PSP 2 will likely continue to play games from physical media.
