PSP celebrates fifth birthday (that's 100 in console years)

Today marks the PSP’s fifth birthday, so feel free to use the excuse to have some cake. It's testament to the longer life spans of this generation’s consoles that the PSP is five years old and still very much in its stride.

Of course, this only means that we, as gamers, can look forward to many more titles over the next five years, and - with the recent announcement of third party accelerometer support - an ever more diverse selection of experiences.

Announced on the PlayStation blog, and reading as much like an advert as you would expect it to, it's still worth a look for the lovely little timeline.

Pocket Gamer wishes the PSP many happy returns.
