Announcing Pocket Gamer Awards 2022: Your time to pick the best games of last year

The Pocket Gamer Awards are back once again for 2022. Last year saw its return for the first time in five years, and we enjoyed it so much we had to do it again. It's a great way to celebrate excellent releases, publishers, developers, and gaming communities from the past 12 months.

Plenty of excellent games took home awards last year. We saw Retro Bowl, Knighthood, Little Orpheus, and Pokemon Café Mix rise to the top of their respective genres. Elsewhere, you chose Genshin Impact as your Mobile Game of the Year. A worthy winner indeed.

Like PGA 2021, you will choose the nominees and eventual winners! That's right. We're running event, but we want our winners to reflect the thoughts of the mobile gaming public. We've got 24 categories covering everything from the best entries in specific genres to the greatest game you can play through your Netflix subscription.

Of course, the highly coveted Game of the Year Award is also up for grabs. So, if you've played anything wonderful on your phone between October 1st 2021 and September 30th 2022, head over to the nominations page to help your pick get the recognition it deserves. You have until October 31st, giving you plenty of time to search your brain for your favourite Roblox game.

Once the nominations are wrapped up, we'll move on to the next stage. Voting. On November 1st, we'll unveil the shortlist for each category, and voting will begin. You will have until the end of the month to cast your votes and encourage others to support your favourite games.

Then, on December 5th, we will announce the winners for each category. On top of that, we will also induct another game into our Hall of Fame. It's the only Pocket Gamer Awards 2022 category where the editorial team will decide the winner. Angry Birds became the inaugural entry last year, so you can expect an equally high-quality title to join it in 2022.

So, without further delay, head over to the Pocket Gamer Awards 2022 nomination page and let us know about the mobile games that have defined your year.
