Play offering Sony Ericsson Xperia arc for £460 from April 1st

Officially unveiled at Sony’s CES press event earlier in the month, the Android-powered Sony Ericsson Xperia arc impressed attendees with its good looks, slim profile and stunning 4.2-inch ‘Reality Display’.

Now the device is available for pre-order, SIM-free, through UK online retailer Play. According to the site, the Xperia arc will be available on April 1st for £459.99.

Beyond the Xperia arc’s Bravia-branded display and diminutive dimensions (just 8.3mm at its thinnest point), it boasts an 8.1MP camera capable of 720p HD video recording, an HDMI port and the very latest version of Android (2.3 or Gingerbread).

Sony Ericsson has confirmed neither the cost nor the release date of the device, saying only that it will be “available globally in selected markets, including Japan, from Q1.”

If Play’s UK release date is to be believed, then some lucky country's going to be getting the Xperia arc even earlier.
