Orange and HMV team up for mobile game portal
For any network and thousands of handsets
Mobile network Orange and retailer HMV have teamed up to provide HMV mobile games, a service which delivers portable games to over 1,000 Java enabled handsets on any network.
Customers on any 3G network who text 'HMV' to 87010 will be sent an SMS message with a link to HMV's gaming portal. Here they can download demos and purchase full games from a selection of over 400 titles.
The games will be priced between £1 and £5 and include titles like PAC-MAN, Tetris, Call of Duty MW2 and Fifa Manager 10. New games will be added every week, as well as previews and reviews of mobile games.
Orange customers will be billed directly for their mobile gameplay, while customers on other networks can use a ‘Pay For It' billing system, where they will be charged for the individual cost of each game.
The service will go live this Friday, March 26th.
