Oberon teams with Aniboom for I-play cartoons

We've got a few suggestions for them too

Oberon teams with Aniboom for I-play cartoons

Oberon Media has announced a deal with animation firm Aniboom to turn a series of casual games published by the former's I-play division into cartoons.

The first game to get the animated treatment is Turbo Subs, which is the PC-based follow-up to Turbo Pizza (which was recently released on mobile).

Basically, I-play will hand over to Aniboom all the characters, game story and related assets from Turbo Subs, and Aniboom will then turn it into a cartoon series for mobile, online and TV.

What's more, the writer will be one Chris Brown, who previously worked on shows like Friends and What's New, Scooby Doo? Presumably Friends gets a bigger mention on his CV...

"Character development and great stories are an important part of our approach to game development, so we knew how important it was to find a great partner to translate them into an animated series," says Oberon Media's Don Ryan.

Could some of I-play's mobile games be turned into 'toons? My Dog II might be a good candidate, although we can see Sexy Pillow Fight becoming a bigger viral success, if we're honest.

Hopefully Aniboom won't stop there, though. They should be beating RealArcade's door down with a big stick to sign up their Playman character for example, while SolaRola, Urban Attack, Townsmen 5 and Orcs & Elves II could all provide fertile material for animators.
