Nintendo steps up the piracy war in Japan

It seems Nintendo hasn't lost the war on piracy just yet.

We previously reported on controversy concerning the R4 flash card in Japan, which allows Nintendo DS gamers to download and play games for free.

One store even had the cheek to display a huge banner advertising the R4 Majicon card.

Kotaku is today reporting that Nintendo didn't take this very well. Not only the sign been taken down, but the store has also been closed.

Perhaps this will be a sign to other retailers that stocking illegal R4 products will not bode well for their commercial futures.
