Nintendo registers 3DSWare and 3DSPlay
Suggests 3DS may still be part of handheld's final name

We reported last week that Nintendo president Satoru Iwata said the Nintendo 3DS will not be the console's final name.
So why exactly did Nintendo recently patent a variety of 3DS-orientated names?
Among the names registered are 3DSWare and the more interesting 3DSPlay. It's safe to assume that 3DSWare will be the next step up from the current DSiWare store, but what could 3DSPlay be about?
Other patented names include DSMagazine, DSMovie and DSCinema, suggesting that Nintendo is preparing to bring out the big, film-watching guns.
If the 3DS is not the formal name for the handheld, then why register these names? Could it be that 3DS will simply be part of the full name?
We'll let our speculation run away with us until an official announcement at E3 next month.
