New N-Gage Arena Launcher Touches Down

The 400,000 members of Nokia’s N-Gage community are getting a treat with the launch of the updated N-Gage Arena Launcher. Version 2.5 features many new tools functions designed to make it easier to use and also adds a number of cool things such as the new Public Group Chat. Open 24/7, public group chat enables N-Gage Arena members to talk to one another via typed messages over their N-Gage devices.

Other new elements of the software include Friend Rankings, where players can compare their scores and progress with the gamers that they’ve selected as friends within their multiplayer games, and updatable log-on messages that will present news or updates when players log in to the N-Gage Arena.

The N-Gage Arena Launcher has also been made more intelligent and will now filter content and direct you to pages that area specifically related to the game that you’re currently playing. Given that it can take a fair old while for pages to load while using the N-Gage Arena, this is a development sure to be welcomed.

The N-Gage Arena Launcher 2.5 is available now from http://arena.n-gage.com/launcher and requires that you download it to your PC before transferring it to your N-Gage handset. It’s currently only available for the N-Gage QD and in English; wider compatibility with the older N-Gage platform and broader language support will arrive later this year, so stay tuned to Pocket Gamer for updates!
