MTV Hijacks Motorola
New phones to feature exclusive MTV games, wallpaper and ringtones
MTV, ever keen to be heard as the authentic voice of the streets, has teamed up with Motorola to release a special edition range of mobile phones. Branded “Hijacked by MTV”, the new phones will be released throughout Europe this spring and summer, though the exact Motorola models that will be included have not yet been revealed.
What you will get for your money is, Motorola says, “the first truly youth focused handset with the needs, aspirations and desires of young people taken into account”. This includes exclusive ringtones, wallpapers, screensavers and even a Hijacked by MTV text message vocabulary.
Of most interest will be the new MTV games, including updates to the series of Plastikulture titles that MTV has created. Involving characters from the fictional ‘burg of Plasticity (geddit?), they’re genuinely amusing little timewasters – you can sample them by clicking on the link below.
