Germany-based mobile phone game developer and publisher HandyGames has announced a move into DS game development.

The company, which has brought us a healthy number of games for mobile – including the excellent Townsmen series (pictured) and, intriguingly, a game about streaking called Flitzer – says it intends to port its strongest IPs to the DS.

"With our many years of experience in the sector of mobile games we see ourselves pretty well positioned. Our products are internationally successful and have already won more than 100 awards," said HandyGames' CEO Markus Kassulke from behind his trophy-laden office desk.

Talks with international publishers regarding a cross-platform strategy are apparently underway. So you can expect to be hearing from HandyGames about its first planned DS creations very shortly.
