Is LEGO Rock Band being built?
And we thought it was going to be young Harry Potter

We’ve seen the mobile and handheld versions of LEGO games, such as Star Wars, Batman and Indiana Jones, perform well enough to suggest this is a franchise that’s not going to dry up any time soon.
But we still weren’t entirely prepared for a rumour from Videogaming247 that suggests the next in the block building series will be LEGO Rock Band.
Quite how/why this would make for a good LEGO game it’s very hard to say (wouldn’t it simply be another Rock Band game, rather than something that makes use of the iconic toy?) though it does loosely tie in with previous rumours of LEGO Harry Potter.
Videogaming247 suggests this could be a commission by EA, which UK-based developer TT Games might well take on so it can forge a relationship with the gaming giant and get its hands on the Harry Potter gaming license - currently held by EA.
Other than TT Games announcing on a Radio One show that a new LEGO game is definitely on the cards for 2009, it’s all speculation at the moment.
Although the consoles are rather bogged down with virtual musician games right now, the DS and mobile platforms have seen a surprising level of success in this genre and could easily shove over to provide room for another (it’d be good to get a bit more use out of those DS Guitar Hero controllers, eh?) so why not make it a LEGO one?
