Happy birthday HandyGames!
Mobile games publisher is eight years old today

Eight years making mobile games is enough to qualify anyone as a grizzled veteran, although the good folks at HandyGames prefer to think of themselves as "one of the last living legends of the mobile games industry".
Anyway, the publisher is eight years old today, having first set up shop in April 2000. HandyGames says it's going from strength to strength too, having recorded a 10 per cent net profit last year.
Over the last eight years, it's released more than 100 mobile games, and received "way over" 100 awards, with its 'Made in Germany' philosophy.
"100 per cent of our downloadable games are produced at our headquarters in the heart of Germany," says CEO Markus Kassulke. "The fresh ideas and innovative concepts coming from us have contributed to start new trends and to shape progress in the market."
HandyGames isn't resting on its laurels though: the company recently announced plans to start making DS games, while it's also aiming to double its workload to 50 mobile games a year, and crack the North American market.
Want to celebrate the company's anniversary? Let me point you in the direction of Townsmen 5, Gothic 3: The Beginning, and Porn Manager - all excellent examples of the company's skills.
