Galaxy Tab 10.1 available in the UK from August 3rd only at PC World, London

We’ve already reported that the eagerly awaited (at least by us) Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 will be arriving in the UK on August 3rd, but we’ve now found out that this particular date only refers to an exclusive Currys launch in London.

Reminiscent of the New York launch, Currys / PC World on Tottenham Court Road will be the only place in the country from which to purchase your brand spanking new Samsung tablet PC if you want it ‘day one’.

Presumably to maximise on queuing potential, the retailer will be selling the machine from 5pm that Wednesday.

If you live nowhere near London or, like me, just aren't that fussed about travelling into the capital for a new tablet, you’ll be pleased to know that everyone else in the UK will be stocking the tablet from August 4th. Yes, half a day later.

It’s quite an interesting strategy from Samsung that’s certainly caught enough headlines to drum up interest from the press at least.

Whether or not this ‘exclusive shop’ tactic will prove a hit with you guys, we’ll have to see in a week’s time.
