Monkey Island Tales 1 (iPhone and iPad)

As in all the entries in the Monkey Island franchise, this point-and-click adventure sees you take on the role of a lackluster pirate called Guybrush Threepwood.

This time around, it's your job to solve puzzles and prevent a strange pox virus from turning the Caribbean's pirates into fiendish buccaneer monsters.

This Pocket Gamer Bronze Award-winning title is the first episode in a five-part adventure series.

Wind-up Knight (Universal)

This action-packed side-scrolling running game sees you guide a wind-up knight through four unique worlds in order to rescue a helpess princess from the clutches of an evil Black Knight.

Each of the game's 50 levels is packed with enemies, obstacles, and hazards, which you'll have to overcome with rolls, jumps, and slashes.

Developer Robot Invader has baked in support for Apple's Game Center, so you can unlock achievements as you progress.
