Prices in the App Store frequently change without warning, so we suggest you go and grab these freebies as soon as you can.

Remember: let us and your fellow readers know about any other great free apps in our comments section below.

Black Powder (Universal)

Set in 1855, Black Powder sees you sinking wave after wave of Englishmen by blowing up their ships with cannonballs.

There are four different game modes to jump into - Tutorial, Arcade, Survivor, Turkey shoot - each with its own goal, and multiple maps to battle across.

Boxed In-HD (iPad)

Boxed In-HD features all 150 puzzles from all three Boxed In games, which have been redesigned especially for Apple's iPad.

Your aim is to guide a robot through each stage of the game using your finger, push boxes that are obstructing your path, and reach the exit in a timely fashion. Switches, force fields, and other hurdles aim to slow you down.

You can climb leaderboards and unlock achievements using social gaming network Game Center.
