Flight Control and Real Racing to receive Game Center update and achievements
Firemint retrospectively adding Apple's social network
While new iPhone and iPod touch games will be required to support Game Center once the service launches next week, Australian developer Firemint is taking it upon itself to incorporate the service in older games.
Flight Control and Real Racing are both being updated with Game Center support, which introduces achievements, multiplayer matchmaking, and leaderboards.
Previous versions of both games offered leaderboards and matchmaking through Firemint's proprietary Cloudcell technology.
You're doing wellOf particular interest, though, is the addition of achievements.
Flight Control, for example, will offer some low hanging fruit with awards for completing the in-game tutorial and landing 20 planes in a single session.
Real Racing requires more work for its achievements, which includes Clean Sweep, an award for earning all gold medal finishes in a championship series.
Updates for Flight Control and Real Racing supporting Game Center are expected to be available next week when the service launches.
