'Final Rift Hardware' going out to developers as Oculus Rift gears up to launch
It's beginning to look a lot like Q1 2016

Oculus has announced that "final Rift hardware" will be "imminently shipping" to developers. This means, presumably, that Oculus Rift CV1's are being fired out around the world for developers to polish up their launch titles.
Pre-orders still aren't open for the Rift, but with the Vive recently announcing a delay until the spring there's a good chance the Rift will be the first consumer PC headset to be beaming VR into your eyes first next year.
The consumer headset still has a release date set for 'Q1 2016' which means very little, but 2016 is just over a week away at this stage so I think it's totally fine to get hyped up.
Those working on launch titles should have their hands on a CV1 soon, but for the enthusiasts and those not bringing a title to life at launch Oculus say that the discontinued DK2 is more than good enough.
I don't see too much direct competition between the Vive and the Rift, but it'll be interesting to see what the slight head-start gives Oculus, if indeed that's the way things pan out.
What do you think? Will you be counting pennies after Christmas to try and pick one up?
