Electronic Arts, one of the world's leading games developers, and Vodafone, the world's largest mobile community, have announced a mobile gaming agreement that’ll see the likes of FIFA 06 Mobile, The Sims 2 and Need for Speed: Most Wanted arriving on the Vodafone Live! service this autumn. EA hopes to have between 15 and 20 of its games available via Vodafone Live! by the end of the year. "Mobile gaming has always been one of our core multimedia services and its appeal continues to grow amongst our customers", said Graeme Ferguson, an important chap at Vodafone. "When EA entered the mobile arena, it signified a new level of maturity for the market, and we look forward to working closely with them to deliver an unrivalled content and service proposition for our customers”, he added in a serious voice.

What this means for you is a wider range of big-name titles. EA has a serious amount of clout in the market and aggressively pursues the official licenses to make games featuring the likes of Wayne Rooney and Tiger Woods. You can also expect to have more Harry Potter on your mobile, too, as EA also holds the rights to develop games based on the boy-wizard’s movies.
