E4 launches second annual Flash game competition
Grand Master Flash and the furious £5,000
E4, the Channel 4 off-shoot aimed at people far younger and hipper than ourselves (and home to endless Friends reruns), has just contacted us to announce the launch of its second annual Grand Master Flash competition.
The aim of the game is to design, build and submit the best Flash game possible by Monday 17th August, at which point an E4 panel will compile a shortlist to go forward to a public vote. The winner will receive a tasty £5,000 cash prize at a special event, the E4 Game Awards.
“More people are making and playing web games than ever before” said Jody Smith, Editor of E4.com. “On E4 Games, we're lucky to already be working with some of the best game developers the web has to offer, and by holding this competition we're looking to find a whole new batch of genius game creators and celebrate the work they do.”
Last year’s winner was Stickman Madness (the second game pictured below), which can be played here. E4 also commissioned the runner up, Luther Chan (possibly the coolest name ever) to create games for the E4 website, so this is clearly a sparkling opportunity for any budding Flash-Harrys.
