Dungeon Defenders developer Trendy: Xperia Play 'blows PSP out of the water'

Trendy Entertainment has hoisted its flag firmly atop the Xperia Play summit today, saying that the Sony Ericsson gaming phone “blows [the PSP] out of the water”.

Speaking to FoneHome, the Dungeon Defenders developer said the device “can handily play any high-end Android game on the market and then some,” thanks to its physical buttons and 1GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon processor.

This is, indeed, significantly quicker than the PSP - on paper at least - with the latter possessing just a 333Mhz processor.

But while it’s always good to see developers excited about working with a new device, the current launch line-up for the machine won’t be making PSP owners lose any sleep, being as it is draped in old mobile conversions from iOS (including, bizarrely, FIFA 10 from 2009).
