It was only yesterday that Nintendo announced it had a three million lead over PSP but today that figure’s leapt up to four and a half million! The huge jump is due to Nintendo releasing its European sales figures of 3.5 million Nintendo DS units sold since its March launch. Five million DSs have been sold in Japan and four million in the US.

And, unsurprisingly, the most successful games in Europe have been Nintendogs, at 1.6 million sales, and Mario Kart DS at 800,000 copies.
