Germany utility developer deset is extending its Pocket Video Maker software to support PSP and Gizmondo hardware. It works by converting movies from DVD and other sources on your PC and then compressing them down for transfer to memory cards in the handheld devices. Already available for Symbian-based mobile phones and PDAs, deset reckons a two-hour movie fits onto a 128 or 256MB storage card, depending on the level of compression chosen.

Pricing hasn't yet been announced but is expected to be around 30 Euros for boxed copy or 25 Euros for a download.
