Disney's CEO Bob Iger is already a big iPad fan, stating it will be a 'game changer', providing Disney with the opportunity to create new forms of content from existing formats, such the sports channel ESPN and TV channel ABC.

"The interactivity that it will allow as a portable device with such a high-quality screen will enable us to develop product that's different to what we see on internet-connected computers and TVs," Iger told the Financial Times.

Disney has been working on Digi-Books for children which Iger also mentioned in terms of their iPad potential.

"This device.. makes the interactivity that we're going to provide come to life," he enthused.

Disney's involvement underlines the sort of living room content Apple CEO, and Disney's shareholder, Steve Jobs highlighted during the device's launch, such as The New York Times.

Another media company with designs on the iPad's 9.7-inch screen is UK newspaper The Guardian.

Editor-in-chief, Alan Rusbridger, told Reuters, "It's perfectly possible that the iPad, if we get the right functionality and design, could produce interesting, significant revenue streams."

Within a month of launching its £2.39 iPhone news app, The Guardian claimed it had been downloaded 70,000 times, proving the market for paid-for content.
