In case you missed London's concert event of the summer – that would be the artist formerly known as The Artist Formerly Known As Prince's 21 dates at the O2 Arena – Nintendo certainly hasn't.
That would certainly explain why it's clearly decided to ride the hype wave currently carrying Minneapolis' funkiest resident across to Europe by releasing Pokémons Diamond and Pearl. Which, if you don't know your Prince, is obviously a reference to one of the musician's past albums (and if you didn't know that then this week's heading will have made little sense – you could always Google it).
Of course, conspiracy theorist would most likely argue that it's actually the other way around, with '80s superstar Prince hoping to benefit from the Pokémon phenomenon.
As far as we're concerned, we think it nothing more than just coincidence. But we had to write something for you to read...
